You can also easily "hot link" to photos, specifying the size you want to link to.
The same photos can appear in more than one album (without taking up more space), each album gets it's own comments (forum like) section below it, and more. I just use the "alexc" style sheet, and it works fine for me. They have a variety of album templates (that they refer to as "style sheets". They also don't charge extra space for all of the viewing sizes (users can view your photos as small, medium, large, or original - without you needing to create the different sizes). offers a lot of flexibility (style sheets, direct linking, personal forum for your albums, guestbook, etc.), and the prices are cheap at $23.00/year for 1000MB (1GB) right now with unlimited bandwidth). They just don't offer some of the fancier services like prints, etc. They've slowly increased the amount of storage you get for the same money each year. I've been hosting albums with pbase since 2002.

It started out as a totally free service, and once it became more popular, the owners of it were forced to charge for it's usage.
The default photo display size is bigger than some of the others. Pbase has dropped in popularity over the last bunch of years but I like its clean uncluttered format.
